We have 7 committees. Non-board members may serve on one(1) committee, and all applications are per the perogative of the chair of that committee.
Public Education and Training
This committee works on our public educational forums, and other opportunities we have to educate CT residents on issues of conern to our community.
This works to hold fundraising events throughout the state, as well as identify large donors or grants we can apply for to grow our organization
This committee will identify opportunities to bring our demands directly to the institutions that can fullfill them. This committee also works to communicate with our island side partners to find ways our work here and directly ebenfit the struggles on the island.
Public Policy and Civil Rights
This committee will draft our public policy agenda for each year, and lobby our elected officials to put our agenda into practice.
Youth Outreach and Recruitment
This committee will focus specifically on doing outreach at our schools and universities, and finding roles that young people can play within the organization to develop thier life skills and gain quality mentorship opportunities.
Civic Engagement and Local Events
With hundreds of events happening every year in CT, this committee seeks to make sure the Connecticut Puerto Rican Agenda is visible and using these large gatherings as a way to get more people registered to vote and mobilized to join our organization. This committee is also responsible for our presence at festivals and parades across the state.
Solidarity and Coalition Building
Our organization will be strongest when it is working in Solidarity with other non-boricua groups in CT. We will support efforts to ensure all young people get a great education, addressing discrimination and predjudice in our communities, that our elders have quality healthcare and a peaceful quality of life. In this we will seek to support and lead efforts around these very important issues.
This committee also oversees our efforts to ensure we are working in economic solidarity with our Boricua businesses here in CT and on the Island.
