The CT Puerto Rican Agenda is building momentum with two great new additions to our speaker lineup!
Coming from Puerto Rico to join us is the President of the Grassroots Unity movement "Vive Boriken" Aimee Montoya. Vive Borikén is a grassroots unity movement in Puerto Rico who's mission is to unite Puerto Ricans worldwide for the cultural, environmental, and economic well-being of our motherland: Borikén You can read more about Aimee here!
And joining us from his work in Bridgeport CT is Julio López Varona of Make the Road Bridgeport. Julio is the founding organizer of Make the Road CT and has helped the organization go from monthly meetings with 10-15 members to a thriving organizing hub with 5 active campaigns and a growing membership base with regular weekly meetings where 30-40 members eat, share and plan the next steps of their campaigns.
Both of these great organizers will be on our "Working in Solidarity with the movements on the Island" panel, which is part of our Founding Assembly on June 3rd.
